However, the majority of projects begin with an in-depth conversation about the desired outcomes and a solid question and answer session, one that needs to go both ways. Much of the information that I gather is needed to perform an On-Page and Off-Page Audit of the main site and any associated properties.

Regardless of how a website might look there are a lot of areas of a site that can only be seen by using the proper tools. These tools allow a site to be seen the same way that the Search Engine crawlers do. And we look for the same things that the bots from Google and Bing are looking for.
Some of the most important elements I look at are how the site is structured, what is called the Taxonomy of the site. I look at how the Keywords are being used, Titles, Meta Tags, Header Tags etc. all of these elements are very important. There is also the technical condition of the site. If the back end of a site is unhealthy it can lead to slow load times which affects the user experience. A bad UX can lead to poor mobile and local search results, high bounce rates as well as other issues. Also, part of this is making sure that Google Analytics and Google Search Console are set up correctly and that data can be seen properly.
My Off-Page SEO Services
The Off-Page work includes looking at things like Google My Business and making sure it is being used properly. Any structured citations that might be out there. I also look at any social media that may be associated with the site.
If you compare an audit to an extensive annual physical, that includes everything, x-rays, blood tests, ear, nose, and throat. A good look at the eyes and teeth and the old ticker. And we might as well toss in a full body CT Scan. Then you should have a good understanding of the detail that goes into an audit
